Brace yourselves: Iron Maiden’s Legacy Of The Beast game is going multiplayer

Game art from Iron Maiden's Legacy Of The Beast multi player game play

Since Iron Maiden first unleashed their epic mobile game, Legacy Of The Beast, earlier this year, we’ve hardly found a reason to put our phones down. Now, just as we were starting to think we’d unlocked every Eddie and noted down every nerdy Maiden reference, it turns out the game is getting a big, fat update, with one particular feature bound to excite fans and turn mates against each other for some time to come. Yup, you heard: Legacy Of The Beast is going PvP (that’s Player vs Player, guys). We asked game developer and Head Of Creative at Maiden’s Phantom imprint, Llexi Leon, to explain all.

“We have a new arena setting that draws influence from the band’s live shows and feels like a gladiator match in the middle of a metal festival!” he beams. “Players can test their mettle against other players’ champions, and pit Eddie against Eddie for the first time. You can also form your own defensive team to fend off attackers and protect your ranking, whilst you challenge opponents around the world and climb the PVP ranks to earn titles and rewards! Rewards are granted for every winning match and an additional PVP reward is given each week based on your ranking - the higher your ranking at the end of each week, the larger your weekly reward.”

Basically, you can grab your favourite Eddie and go batter your friends. What’s not to love? There will also be a host of new Eddies added to the game in the coming weeks and months, including some particularly seasonal ones, if you get our drift. We’re in.
