In this filmed interview, TeamRock sat down with Pvris vocalist Lynn Gunn and quizzed her on her tour habits, songwriting technique and the first thing her parents said when she said she wanted to become a full-time musician.
“When I initially told my parents I didn’t want to go to school and I wanted to do this instead they were like, ‘Get a job and work your butt off and be able to provide for yourself’,” she explains. “As long as you can do that, you can do whatever you want to do as long as you’re happy.”
As for songs for their follow-up to 2014’s White Noise, it seems that the trio won’t be stuck for ideas if Gunn’s daily routine is anything to go by.
“Ideas are always coming out of nowhere,” she says. “I’m always thinking. It’s pretty organic, but pretty routine for me, but in a good way. Whenever we’re in the van or whenever I have a free second, I’ll get my laptop and work on new songs. I do it every day. It’s a habit, very cathartic and therapeutic. It’s a release.”
Pvris’ US tour kicks off in Nashville, Tennessee on May 11. For more details, see their official website.
