The Giants Of Rock festival took place at the Butlins holiday camp in Minehead over the weekend. The bill, which featured a stellar cast of Classic Rock veterans alongside some relative newcomers — including Ian Hunter, Procol Harum, Nazareth, Big Country, Michael Schenker’s Temple of Rock, Wishbone Ash, Graham Bonnet and Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel — will be reviewed in the next issue of Classic Rock.
But Giants Of Rock isn’t just about the music. Giants Of Rock is about people gathering in a traditional British seaside resort, out of season, and doing the things the British love: the arcades, the bars, the shopping, football on the TV and fish & chips. So yes, we took pictures of the bands. But we also turned the camera around, away from the stage, and shot the people who really matter… the fans.
