Two years after they formed in Broward County, Florida, Bloodbather — Kyler Millo (vocals, bass) and Salem Vex (guitar, synths) — are channelling their influences into creating some of the most visceral and exciting metal around.
Debut EP Pressure quickly earned them 370K Spotify streams and the band shared a stage with the likes of Whitechapel, Carnifex, Of Mice & Men and Attila.
They signed with Rise Records in 2019 and hit the studio in Tennessee alongside producer Tate Mercer (Better-Off, Chamber, Hampton). The first fruits of those sessions is the single Disappear – an album will follow this year.
Metal Hammer's Stephen Hill fired up Zoom to talk to Kyler Millo about the band's influences, from thrash, hardcore and death metal, to less obvious reference points like Bjork and Imogen Heap.
