Filter cancelled their show in Gothenburg on Monday night after they received a death threat.

They scrapped their gig at the Sticky Fingers venue in the Swedish city while on tour with Combichrist.

A representative of the band reportedly tells TMZ that last week’s shooting of 22-year-old singer Christina Grimmie and the mass shooting at Orlando gay club Pulse played a factor in the group’s decision.

The band say: “Filter just received a death threat at the club tonight. We will not be performing.”

Earlier this week they shared their song Pride Flag to pay tribute to victims of the Orlando massacre, adding: “Here’s to all those who have fallen being themselves and their families who suffered today.”

In addition, Combichrist, who were due to issue a new music video this week, say they’ve postponed its release in light of the US shootings.

Frontman Andy LePlegua says: “Due to the amount of violence in the new music video, and due to the tragic events that happened over the weekend, I have decided to postpone the release in respect to the victims and their families.

“It’s a week of mourning, not celebrating violence. I’m proud of the video, it’s a great piece of art, and we all worked hard on making it happen – but it does not belong in my life this week. My heart is still with everybody in Orlando.

Following dates on the bands tour are still to go ahead.
