Nickelback talk “aggressive” new album

Nickelback frontman Chad Kroeger has given an update on the musical direction of their upcoming ninth album.

Feed The Machine will launch on June 16 via BMG, with the band releasing a sci-fi-inspired lyric video for the title track last month.

Kroeger tells Music Choice: “This album is definitely heavier, as a whole, than a lot of our previous records.

“We’ve gone back to some pretty crunchy roots, and we’re happy about that. I mean, we’re always stretching off in different directions and trying different things, but we definitely went with more of an aggressive sound on this record.”

Nickelback will kick off their North American tour in support of Feed The Machine this weekend and have dates planned throughout the summer.
