Scotland’s T In The Park is officially one of the most crime-ridden music festivals in the UK.
This year’s event, which took place at the weekend, was the scene of two deaths thought to be drug related and the alleged rape of an 18-year-old woman.
An ATM cash machine was also stolen from the site.
The Herald reports that there were 429 recorded crimes and 54 arrests at TITP this year. More than 70,000 people attended the three-day Perthshire festival over the weekend.
In comparison, crime fell at this summer’s Glastonbury festival to the lowest levels in its history.
Maynard James Keenan will head out on a book tour in support of his upcoming biography A Perfect Union Of Contrary Things.
The Tool, A Perfect Circle and Puscifer frontman has announced two dates so far – at Nashville’s City Winery on November 9 and Thalia Hall in Chicago on November 16.
The authorised biography is due for release on November 8. It was written by Keenan with the help of his friend Sarah Jensen and is available for pre-order.
Alice In Chains vocalist William DuVall has given an update on the two documentaries he has been working on.
The singer is producing and directing All Alone Together: Neon Christ And Atlanta Hardcore, about the hardcore punk scene in the city in Georgia, and also The Wisdom Of Milford Graves, about the iconic jazz musician.
On All Alone Together, DuVall tells 98.9 The Rock: “We’re still doing it for sure. And it’s definitely gonna happen. We’ve had a couple of personnel changes on the team, but it’s all for the good.”
And on The Wisdom Of Milford Graves, he adds: “I’ve self-funded that film for all of these years, and I’ve just been waiting for the ending. And the ending, I think I may have figured it out. But it involves going over and shooting in Europe and things like that. So we’re gonna get that done. And then we’re gonna edit it, and that’s the big mountain to climb.”
Hammerfall have announced a European tour kicking off in Germany on January 12, 2017.
Branded Built To Tour, the trek includes 21 dates. Guitarist Oscar Dronjak says: “It’s been a hectic time juggling the remaining shows of the tour with songwriting and, ultimately, recording, so the name of this venture feels very fitting.
“The World Wide ®Evolution was a resounding success on every level with half of the shows sold out, and we can’t wait to get back on stage again to have a gigantic heavy metal party every night with all our Templar friends.”
The band’s as-yet-untitled 10th album is due for release on November 4 via Napalm Records.
