Estranged Blink-182 frontman Tom DeLonge says he’s “talking” with the band’s drummer Travis Barker about their future.
DeLonge split with the group in 2015 and last month said he’d been in contact with Blink’s Mark Hoppus – although the bassist insisted he hadn’t seen the singer for a year and a half.
Now DeLonge says he’s been in talks with drummer Travis Barker about his place in the band, and has played down suggestions in a recent interview with Science.Mic that he left Blink to search for UFOs.
The singer says: “Quitting the band to search for UFOs? WTF is wrong with you, media? I’m actually talking to Travis about us right now – never did quit, remember?”
- Aerosmith farewell tour next year, says Steven Tyler
- Every Time I Die to release album Low Teens
- Robert Plant bears witness in Led Zeppelin Stairway To Heaven trial
- Twenty One Pilots set for ‘confident’ 5th album
DeLonge, who’s made no secret about his UFO obsession in the past, is involved in a long-term project called Sekret Machines, with the aim of exposing the stories behind human encounters with UFOs and the US government’s involvement.
He adds: “Am I currently working with people in the government? Yes. Including leadership from the Department Of Defence, Intelligence and Executive Branch? Yes.
“Just wait for the documentary before considering ridiculous headlines. Haha.”
DeLonge was replaced in Blink-182 by Alkaline Trio’s Matt Skiba. They’ll release their latest album California on July 1 and launched a video for their track Bored To Death earlier this week.
Blink are currently on the road across North America.
