Back with a third album featuring singer Nic Maeder, Switzerland’s Gotthard try to modernise things with this, their 25th-anniversary release. When they get things right, it works well enough, though for the most part, Silver pales into insignificance alongside their previous efforts. And we have to ask: are all of those mid-paced tracks really necessary?

As a lifelong season ticket holder of Crystal Palace FC, he is completely incapable of uttering the word ‘Br***ton’.
